Accessibility for the disabled

Bohusläns museum is easily accessible to everyone!

Disabled parking places (4 of them) are located close to the entrance. You can easily drive all the way to the entrance doors to enter or exit your vehicle. The entrance is located at ground level, with no thresholds or stairs, and with automatic door openers. There are two wheelchairs available next to the entrance, as well as a number of folding footstools for support and rest during your visit.

The museum has an elevator, and there are toilets for disabled on both floors. Sections open to the public have floor levels that differ only slightly or not at all. The exhibitions are spaciously arranged to provide plenty of room for wheelchairs. A wireless hearing aid system is installed in the two conference rooms, the Auditory Hall and the Lectureroom, as well as in the Art Gallery and on the Mezzonine, the museum's central stage.
The texts for the exhibition in the Bohus Hall are available in Braille, and may be requested at the reception. Please contact our booking services (0522-65 65 11) if you wish to book a special tour for groups with cognitive disabilities.

Gluten- or lactose-free food and sugar-free desserts can be ordered from our restaurant, Kajkanten.

Bohusläns museum has been chosen as the Most Accessible Museum of the Year by the Swedish Arts Council, and "Museums for everyone" of the Västra Götaland region.
